Doulie

An evidence-based birth planning app

Doulie began with a gap between how people prepared for birth and how decisions happened in a clinical setting. Traditional birth plans could be long, rigid, or hard to use in the moment.

Doulie was an exploratory project, not a shipped product. It looked at how interaction design can support informed decisions, patient autonomy, and communication during pregnancy and birth.

Doulie is a mobile birth-preparation and planning experience. It combined short educational content, guided decision-making, provider questions, and a concise birth preferences tool. The visual system is warm, with hand-drawn illustrations throughout. I was the lead engineer and built the app.
